Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – March 20th, 2023 – Invest Turks and Caicos (Invest TCI) joined forces with several partners across the Turks and Caicos Islands for the MSME Roadshow 2024, under the theme “Advancing Together: Building Stronger MSMEs Across the TCI.” Collaborating partners included the TCICC TVET Programme, Department of Trade, Department of Agriculture, Experience Turks and Caicos, Customs Department, and the Inland Revenue – Business Licensing Department.
The three-week Roadshow kicked off on February 26th in South Caicos, continued through Salt Cay, Grand Turk, Middle Caicos, North Caicos, and concluded in Providenciales on March 14th. The primary focus of the Roadshow was to showcase the power of collaborative efforts in propelling small businesses towards success.
Throughout the Roadshow, each partner received a platform to present and engage with attendees, emphasizing the benefit of small businesses participating in the respective programs as well as the support each department brings to make small businesses successful. The final day, held in Providenciales, featured a networking cocktail hosted by Invest TCI, facilitating valuable conversations and networking among MSMEs, industry experts, and other attendees. MSMEs also had the opportunity to showcase and sell their products. Hon. Rachel Taylor, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports, and Social Services, graced the event, emphasizing the importance of the TCICC TVET collaboration with Invest TCI, in encouraging student enrollment and readiness for the MSME program. Hon. Taylor also highlighted the role of MSMEs in empowering other small enterprises within the community through education.
The Roadshow garnered widespread support from the community and stakeholders, with over 100 attendees from across the island. Alexa Cooper, VP of SME Development, stated, “The MSME Roadshow 2024 exemplified the strength and resilience of our local small businesses. It was inspiring to see our partners come together to support and uplift our MSMEs, laying the foundation for a prosperous future.”
