Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, September 7th, 2021 – Invest Turks and Caicos (Invest TCI) is pleased to announce the Agency’s participation in the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) held August 30th-31st at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, Florida.

A most noteworthy hotel investment conference, the two-day event saw over 200 persons from North and South America and the Caribbean gathered for an in-person event following last year’s virtual summit due to the pandemic. Keeping within strict Covid-19 guidelines, this year’s conference included numerous plenary and breakout sessions, including three Caribbean-specific breakout sessions and multiple networking opportunities. The event’s content was geared toward hotel owners/investors, developers, brands, and lenders.

Invest TCI was once again a platinum sponsor of this year’s event and hosted one of the Caribbean sessions, “Opportunities in the Turks and Caicos,” which gave attendees an in depth look into the Turks and Caicos Islands and highlighted investment opportunities in the islands.  The presentation made by Invest TCI’s Interim CEO, Angela Musgrove, encouraged attendees to consider investment opportunities in the family islands, which are relatively untouched and have much to offer. Her presentation drew attention to the islands outside of Providenciales. She noted that a world of untapped opportunities lies in the unspoiled, picturesque “family islands,” a collection of ecological magnificence waiting to be transformed. Additionally, The Premier, The Honourable Charles Washington Misick, participated in a one-on-one “View from the Heads of Government” Interview hosted by Vincent Wallace, Principal Partner of BedfordBakerGroup.  The session focused on the current affairs of the Turks and Caicos Islands. The Premier commented on the islands’ economic strength and growth trajectory and his government’s commitment to ensure that the island doesn’t just have five-star properties but that it is a five-star destination.

Also attending the summit on behalf of Invest TCI was Vice President–Marketing and Promotion, Trina Adams-Smith.   Mrs. Adams-Smith commented, “Invest TCI has attended CHRIS for the past six years and have built lasting relationships with industry colleagues and have generated several leads for the Agency.  This year, the Turks and Caicos Islands received additional exposure as the Agency hosted its session focusing on investment opportunities in the Islands. The Premier, The Honourable Charles Washington Misick, was able to provide insight into the islands and the current state of the economy.  The Turks and Caicos Islands most definitely stood out above our peers in the region with a comparative look at the islands’ progress despite the pandemic.”  Adams-Smith further stated, “we look forward to promoting these islands at CHRIS and other industry conferences.”
